Over the past 40 years, science and engineering has been changing due to the development of computational hardware and simulation methods. A major reason is the reduction in the cost of computations as well as the improvements in various methods. By replacing traditional design practices, which often relied solely on experiments, by simulation based validated methods at multiple scales, dramatic time-to-market and cost savings can be accomplished.

The ability for government, a company; or industry to adapt to these advancements is imperative to remain competitive. Many government and industrial organizations have already partnered up with The Multiscale Science and Engineering Center (MSEC) to foster research, development and education. This partnership brings about the development of disruptive technologies, advances in industrial systems, enhances national economic competitiveness and prepares the students for the 21st century workplace.

There are many benefits to collaborating with MSEC faculty and taking advantage services including:

  • Specific research associated with an application or methodology of interest
  • Access to highly trained graduate and undergraduate students
  • FREE software alt
  • Examine reports before they are published
  • Participation in workshops and seminars
  • Membership in MSEC Advisory Board
  • Being informed of happenings in multiscale science and engineering
